Apartment Vibe

A screenshot from the Scandi show Black Widows, which I didn't really get into.
But I liked some things in this apartment.

Song similarities

The sort of synth ominous 4-6 or so note chord progression (totally making up the term) from Bishop Briggs' Hallowed Ground reminds me of Simon Says by Pharoahe Monch.

subtitled stills

THIS ONE'S FOR YOU MUM!

Austenland

found these pictures when cleaning up.

Words found when cleaning up

Ha ha. that sounds funny.

A particular favourite amongst some people in primary school. not me, though i don't dislike the word.

Getty

Loved these 3 photos from Insta taken of the Getty. Love the Getty. But don't want to do a comprehensive post and fall down a wormhole because I am trying to clear my "sort" files on my computer desktop. What a task - fun though!

Wow

Wow, clickbait ads have my number. Trying to lure me in with Forrest Gump, that's low... All I can say is 'Run Forrest, Run' away from the ads.

Another post on Fiona Apple

A great quote - and also there is an artist who is weaving FA lyrics into rugs - article at Huffpost here - this is one of those rugs
One i particularly related to

I just love this quote - it's always made me laugh but resonated at the same time.

Home crush

Going through my "desktop sort as of 19 July" file I came across pictures I had saved of Adam Levine's Hollywood Hills home from Architectural Digest.

Summer loveliness, it would be lovely to have this garden, but maybe not enough greenery for my personal preference.

Not sold enough on this that I would have it for myself, but I do enjoy the balcony, carpet, cushions, and coffee table decorations.

Gorgeous Bathroom! Love the marble, and the olive branch is lovely.

Goodreads Rabbit Hole

Looking for new reads, I fell down some rabbit holes on Goodreads, including into this very specific and niche list... Massachusetts Murders !

I also enjoyed the description of New Bedford, Massachusetts in the blurb of the book Shallow Graves: The Hunt for the New Bedford Highway Serial Killer - by Maureen Boyle:

New Bedford, Massachusetts, an old fishing port known as the Whaling City, where Moby Dick, Frederick Douglass, textile mills, and heroin-dealing represent just a few of the many threads in the community's diverse fabric.

Good cover too, reminds me of True Detective, which I haven't watched yet (but want to), but the poster is similar.

Interesting artwork

There was some interesting artwork on the wall behind this person being interviewed in a video I watched on youtube about cohousing. The title of the video can be seen in one of the images.

Kedi

Kedi was a beautiful and heartwarming documentary about the street cats of Istanbul that I thoroughly enjoyed as a general person and a cat lady.

I loved this little explanation for their attitudes they presented in the film (also in the trailer!):

Great Name

Joshua Jelly-Schapiro is a great name. That's all I wanted to say.
And a picture of a beautiful jelly just to round out the post.

Eyebrows

Funny that somebody was concerned about that... totally a top-priority question.

Arnolfini Portrait

I really enjoyed watching the BBC series "A Stitch In Time" episode 2, on the Arnolfini Portrait.

A fascinating portrait. I wanted to note (to myself) that I loved the idea of beads hanging on the wall... I might adapt that for myself. That was really the whole point of this post, beads. Yeah. Intellectual, right!?!?

Here are some other fun things I found while searching for the picture.
