Bad Omens

Again I was disappointed by a Neil Gaiman TV adaption - this time Good Omens. I really tried, but it just didn't do it for me. Great setting though. Ignore the captions, I like the subtitles on :)

That escalated quickly.

From episode 1 or 2 of the first season of Covert Affairs.

A Transfixing true crime quilt

I enjoyed this review of the Alias Grace limited series starring Sarah Gadson from James Poniewozik in the NY Times. (Which I absolutely loved by the way!)

I really liked these points to remind us that just because something comments on the "now," doesn't mean that is its only relevance (bias of being a history student).

Last Call

Very amusing.

Last Man on Earth

I've been enjoying watching the post-apocalyptic comedy The Last Man on Earth, particularly because of the one, the only, Carol Pilbasian. Phil annoyed me a bit in season 1, but I stuck with the show because it was overall quite amusing, but I am enjoying it even more in season 2.
Some of the best parts of Carol's quirky personality are her crafts, jokes, and clothes. Don't forget the raisin balls!!!

These are just some of her outfits that I like - she definitely does take advantage of the fact that there are not many people left in the world, obviously raiding some expensive boutiques to get her Kenzo, Moschino, Opening Ceremony, Alexander McQueen - of which you can find a decently comprehensive index here.

Broad City Titles

I wasn't enamoured of Broad City after watching the first episode, but because a friend of mine was so partial to it, I gave it another try. Episodes 2 & 3 sealed the deal. Abbi and Ilana are hilarious, and I'm sucked in.

This web page has a great investigation of its title sequences and an interview with the illustrator, with some great video demonstrations.

But now, for some pictures:

And just some other Broad City tidbits.
